Read rarity and role together

The earlier roster has named Secret, Exclusive, Mythic, Legendary, Epic, and Rare groups, but rarity alone does not tell you whether a unit supplies wave clear, a boss carry, crowd control, amplification, or income.

Start by identifying the team problem. Then use the individual dossiers for 8th Sword, Three Swords from Hell, Puppet, Dark Mage, Yuta, Crow, and Shadow to check evolution and equipment context before committing materials.

An investment checklist for any unit

Check the current obtainment route, base versus evolved form, unit type, placement limit, ability or passive text, and compatible equipment. Verify the exact live tooltip rather than treating an older stat table as permanent.

A long-term investment should also fit your active mode. A unit valued for raid burst, payload control, or a crowd-control loop can be excellent without being a universal Story carry.
